CILIP's Professional Development Group (PDG) is part of CILIP's CPD Forum. The focus of the group is to develop career development opportunities for all CILIP members throughout their career.
There are three levels of membership of PDG to enable CILIP members who would like to contribute but cannot attend meetings to have a voice in the development of opportunities for all members:
- Core committee members: attend meetings, agree direction, set up working parties
- Working members: involved in projects on a 'task and finish' basis
- Corresponding members: kept informed and invited to contribute feedback and input
Carol Brooks is Chair of PDG. She has been involved in CILIP activities since 1977 and her first role was as a Student Representative. Since then Carol has been continuously working as an activist in a variety of roles. She is passionate about the development of professionals and loves to mentor and support professional activities. Carol works in the provision of learning and development opportunities for library and leadership roles and is also a CILIP Onsite Trainer.
Vice-Chair: Marilyn Moore. Marilyn has worked and managed in both public and academic services. She has been involved with CILIP's Youth Libraries Group over the years and continues to work with both students and groups.
